Your wedding day is the one occasion where more is truly more. Indian bridal jewellery is a symphony of pieces that work together to create a look of regal splendour. Here is how to style each piece for a cohesive, breathtaking bridal ensemble.
Start with the maang tikka — the centrepiece that draws the eye to the bride’s face. It should sit at the parting of the hair and be proportional to your face. For round faces, a longer tikka creates the illusion of length, while a rounder tikka softens angular features.
The necklace is the anchor of your bridal look. A traditional bridal set typically includes a rani haar (long necklace), a choker, and sometimes a collarbone-length pendant. The rule of three — wearing necklaces at three different lengths — creates a layered, opulent effect.
